The SHARKS Warbird event has come and gone, and it was fantastic. We had pilots that started showing up Tuesday and didn’t leave until Sunday! Over 60 pilots and a lot of new faces this year! We had pilots from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas and even Nebraska! The Texas Warbird Thunder Team was well represented and put on a great show with gaggles of up to 15 giant scale warbirds flying at one time. The kitchen crew did a great job and everyone was well fed all day. There was always a line at lunch time for burgers and hotdogs. The SHARKS provided pilot’s dinners of Jambalaya and bread pudding Friday and our always popular fajitas on Saturday. Many of the first timers told us they’ve never felt so welcomed at a fly in, couldn’t believe the hospitality, and they said that this is another “must attend” event for them.
We had several combat events and everyone, pilots and spectators alike, really enjoy watching the planes trying to cut each others ribbons. This has become so popular that a registration we are frequently asked if we are doing the combat… Of course the answer is yes!

Our next, and last event for the year is our Jet Rally that will be held at a full scale airport 16-17-18 October.
