Our SHARKS Warbird and Scale event was a huge success. In spite of the hot weather, we had 65 registered pilots from Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi that enjoyed the clear skies and light winds. The planes ranged in size from little foamboard electrics to a 57% Hemple Extra 300 powered by a 420cc engine. As always, your batteries and battery straps were the favored pilot’s prizes.
We had 4 combat rounds with minimal damage. The SHARKS Combat has become something the pilots are really looking forward to when they visit us. More than once, the first question I got when the pilots arrived was if we were doing the combat… Of course we are! I’ve even had other clubs approach us about bringing our combat planes to their events, but we’ve decided to keep this attraction at home and unique to the SHARKS.
